Choose one question
During an open-hand practice session, ask one player to explain what they believe the current legal choices are. Keep this exercise separate from a competitive game so the discussion does not become unauthorised table communication.
Write before checking
Record the explanation in a short sentence before consulting the rules. Then compare it with the selected reference. Mark whether the difference was a missed card, a misunderstood rule or an arithmetic error.
Discuss the process
A good explanation can lead to an unfavourable result, and a poor explanation can get lucky. Focus on whether the stated choice was legal and based on the information available at the time.
Repeat with a new observer
Rotate the explaining role so each person gets a chance to ask a basic question. End while the group can still concentrate. This is an original learning exercise, not a tournament practice or a claim about winning performance.
