Label every number
A worksheet should say what its numbers represent. Use one area for the cards collected in a hand and another for the agreed change to the match score. Do not leave a column labelled only “points”.
Read back the decision
After a hand, ask the table to confirm the outcome under its chosen rules. State the team name and signed game-point change aloud before entering it. The scorekeeper records those confirmed changes; it does not judge a bid or convert card totals.
Note an exception
If the result includes a special table agreement, write a brief explanation in the hand note. Someone reviewing the record later should be able to understand why the entry differs from an ordinary hand.
Correct transparently
Undo the latest hand when it is wrong and enter it again. Export a copy before rebuilding an older record. Keep a paper or CSV copy for sessions you want to retain.
